Orry, 7 others booked for consuming alcohol at Katra hotel | KNO

Jammu, Mar 17 (KNO): Orhan Awatramani popular known as Orry and his eight associates have been booked by Jammu and Kashmir for consuming alcohol in a hotel in Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine (SMVDS) in the Reasi district. According to a statement, issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) police stated that taking a cognisance of a complaint regarding an issue involving certain guests who were staying at a hotel in Katra were found taking alcohol, following which an FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the law. Police said that as per the manager of the property, on March 15, guests which include Orhan Awatramani (ORRY), Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli and Anastasila Arzamaskina, consumed alcohol in their hotel premises despite being told that alcohol and non-veg diet is not allowed inside the cottage suite as it is strictly prohibited at such a divine pilgrimage place. It said that a team was constituted under the supervision of SP Katra, DySP Katra and SHO Katra to track the culprits who violated the rule of the land and shown disrespect to the sentiments of the people connected with the faith. Police added that there is no place for those who do not follow the law of the land and try to disrupt the peace by resorting to any means especially by way of drugs or alcohol and will be dealt with iron hands. Earlier, the videos of Orry and others went viral on social media. Orry performed Darshans at Vaishno Devi Shrine on March 15 and in one of the videos, he seen with liquor bottles and half filled glass. The behaviour attracted sharp critisim from people including political parties with People’s Democratic Party (PDP) spokesperson Mohit Bhan strongly condemned the act and demand strict action against the culprits—(KNO)
